About Juwell's Bostons
My name is Judy Criswell and I live in Northern, CO. Unlike some lucky people, I was not raised with Boston Terriers. I was introduced to one that some friends owned some years back, and I fell in love at first sight.

I then acquired our first Boston, Lady Lovelace, in 1990 and was just smitten by her wonderful temperament. She was my daughter's first obedience and Jr. Showmanship dog.

I have been breeding and exhibiting our wonderful breed in both conformation and obedience since 1991. I have championed multiple dogs and have FIVE generations of obedience  titled dogs.

"Breeding dogs is not a right, it is a privilege.  As such, there are responsibilities incumbent upon anyone who undertakes to do so.  These responsibilities include the stewardship of the breed.  What benefits the dogs must take precedence over what benefits the people".....I take breeding of Bostons very seriously, and therefore will not sell to "just anyone".

I do not breed very often, but when I do, I breed to produce a puppy I can show.  Not every puppy is worthy of showing, or might not  have the temperment to show, and that puppy will be placed in a loving "pet home".

I'm very selective in my breeding program, and I breed only to IMPROVE THE BREED. I breed for that great Boston temperament. I also breed as closely to The Boston Terrier Standard as I can. Not only do I breed for that great Boston head, but a strong, sturdy, compact dog, with as few health issues as possible, and thus one that will rise easily to the rigors of obedience and any other performance training. I put the emphasis not only on the beauty of our breed, but also on the intelligence.

I HEALTH TEST every dog I keep to breed, and ones I place in good homes, whether it be a show home or a "pet" home.

My dogs are AKC and some are UKC registered. Some of my dogs are also registered with the International German KC. That means that my dogs can earn AKC,UKC & International titles. I am a member of The Boston Terrier Club of America & The Greeley Kennel Club. I'm also the Secretary of The Rocky Mountain Boston Terrier Club.

Before Before I was a Dog Mom:
I made and ate hot meals unmolested.
I had unstained, unfurred clothes.
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
even if the doorbell rang.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got to bed
or if I could get into my bed.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I cleaned my house every day.
I never tripped over toys, stuffies, chewies
Or invited the neighbor's dog over to play.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I didn't worry if my plants, cleansers, plastic bags,
toilet paper, soap or deodorant
were poisonous or dangerous.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had complete control of
My thoughts,
My body and mind.
I slept all night without sharing
the covers or pillow.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I never looked into big, soulful eyes and cried.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop a hurt.
I never knew something so furry and four-legged
could affect my heart so deeply.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never held a sleeping puppy
just because I couldn't put it down.
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was well.
I didn't know how warm it feels inside
to feed a hungry puppy.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Dog Mom: I had never known the warmth,
the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the
satisfaction of being A Dog Mom
